A rupture disk, also known as a pressure safety disc or burst diaphragm, serves as a non-reclosing pressure relief safety mechanism. It is commonly employed to safeguard pressure vessels, equipment, or systems from over pressurization or potentially damaging vacuum conditions.

When an over-pressure event occurs, the thin diaphragm makes contact with the sharp edges of the housing and ruptures, facilitating the release of pressure from the system. Once ruptured, the unit is no longer usable and must be replaced for continued safety.

These burst discs are from all-metal Stainless Steel construction and can be equipped with optional gas recovery features, effectively shielding your system from over pressurization.
